He elegido este lugar por que es un edificio que va a desaparecer del paisaje urbano.
Desde el punto de vista de la sostenibilidad, cabe señalar el gran coste energético que se utilizará para su demolición, sumando a ello el generado por la construcción de una nueva obra en dicho solar, creo que se encuentra en buen estado de conservación y tiene muchas posibilidades de reutilización.
Desde el punto de vista patrimonial, es un edificio representativo de la Arquitectura Racionalista del Ensanche de Bilbao, es obra de Diego de Basterra, quien fuera Arquitecto de la Diputación de Bizkaia, fue uno de los hombres que ayudo a formar la imagen de ciudad que hoy en día conocemos. Al parecer, el poder político-financiero junto a la especulación inmobiliaria, han conseguido finalmente que se recalifique su importancia arquitectónica por parte de los organismos y autoridades competentes, quitándole todo tipo de categoría de protección legal, pudiendo así borrarlo definitivamente del paisaje cotidiano.
Teniendo en cuenta, que tal conjunto de arquitectura industrial, además de ser incluido en rutas de tipo patrimonial como parte del movimiento moderno, en su momento fue barajado como posibilidad de instalar allí un museo de arte contemporáneo y en los últimos años se planteó la posibilidad de reutilizarlo para generar viviendas, fracasando ambas ideas.
Pero en fin, lamentablemente es hoy, uno más de los ejemplos de la destrucción de la memoria histórica de esta ciudad, frente a la mirada y voz impávida de todos.

Apparently, the political and financial power with real estate speculation have finally managed to be downgraded its architectural significance by the competent authorities and bodies, removing every category of legal protection, and can delete it from the everyday landscape.
Taking into account that such a set of industrial architecture, as well as being included in equity-type routes as part of the modern movement at the time was shuffled as a possibility to install there a museum of contemporary art in recent years raised the possibility for reuse to build homes, failing both ideas.
But anyway, today is unfortunately one more example of the destruction of historical memory of this city, in front of the eyes and fearless voice of all.
