Desde la calle más larga de Bilbao, Zabalbide, se aprecian dos iconos más que representativos de la noble Villa Bilbaína, como son la iglesia de San Antón y el Mercado de la Ribera. Siempre en boca de la gente; uno por estar representado en el escudo de Bilbao y otro por ostentar durante muchos años la etiqueta de mercado cubierto más grande de Europa y por estar en proceso de remodelación. Este es mi rincón preferido de Bilbao, espero que el vuestro también.

Hay varias historias, pero todas coinciden en que aquella chica cautivó con su belleza a los trabajadores que subían a la grúa para admirarla y captar su atención con piropos.

La Villa de Bilbao, como Carola, es hermosa. Sólo hay que subirse a la cabina de este vestigio de nuestra historia para entenderlo. Espero que pronto podamos hacerlo todos.

La Villa de Bilbao, as Carola, is beautiful. Just climb into the cockpit of this vestige of our history to understand. I hope soon we can do it all.

He elegido este lugar porque es una fuente conocida por tod@s l@s bilbain@s, y seguramente un alto porcentaje de ell@s han bebido alguna vez el agua que nos regala esta fuente en el precioso entorno en el que esta ubicada, yo mismo recuerdo haber bebido de niño muchas veces de ella y seguro que mucha gente también tiene recuerdos similares asociados a la tranquilidad, la niñez, lo lúdico, la sombra, la brisa...en fin, todas las sensaciones agradables que aporta el parque en el que esta situada.

Hace 30 años cuando la ría era de color marrón, vi en estas escaleras a alguien con un cedazo cogiendo angulas de Bilbao,-  las mas cotizadas. Su color de lomo negro según la leyenda urbana provenía de la mierda. Era increíble como a pesar de su marronería podía tener vida o pensar que la tuviera.

"Entre las angulitas hay un pez gordooooo
arrimamos el farol
y era un mocordo
asi de gordo y asi de grande...."

Los blup, blup eran parte de esa pócima secreta.
En la bajamar el fondo de la ría se deja mirar púdicamente a través de pilotes de madera que ornamentan su oscuridad, pocas veces vemos su lodo.
Con la nueva etapa de limpieza de la ría tengo la esperanza de poder ver bajar a alguien para bañarse, aunque estuviera prohibido!!!!!

Tonetti, un payaso que siempre saluda y sonríe. Le veo al  pasar todas las mañanas, me mira, a veces creo que me guiña un ojo complice como cuando, de pequeño, estando sentado en los bancos corridos de su circo, pidieron un voluntario.
